Hi, I’m Gerad Crosswy, the owner of Crosswyre Electric, a local electrical contractor business I established in 2021.

I started Crosswyre Electric to help homeowners and businesses get electrical work done safely, correctly, and with clear communication from start to finish.

For me, electrical work is about more than fixing wires or installing equipment. It is about keeping families safe, making homes more reliable, and helping customers feel confident that the work behind their walls is built to last.

Had them come to replace my main pannel and 2 subs. Very professional and a good value.

They stayed within quote and were excellent at communicating issues. They fixed some things that were unforeseen or bad as they worked.

These guys know what they are doing. I will use them next time I need any electrical done.

Underground electrical conduit and power cables installed in a trench for utility wiring

How Deep Should Electrical Conduit Be Buried?

The answer depends on two things: what type of electrical conduit you’re using and where it’s going.  Rigid metal conduit can sit as shallow as 6 inches in open ground. PVC conduit needs at least 18 inches. No conduit at all, just direct burial cable? That’s 24 inches.  These are minimums set by the National

How to Fix Flickering Lights in Your House? 4 Easy Steps

Flickering lights usually come down to four things: a loose bulb, an incompatible dimmer switch, an overloaded circuit, or a loose connection somewhere in the wiring.  Two of those you can handle in minutes. The other two may need a licensed electrician, especially if the flickering occurs across multiple rooms or is accompanied by a

7 Electrical Preventive Maintenance Checklist in 2026

Most electrical failures don’t announce themselves. They build quietly over months, sometimes years, before something finally gives.  A proper electrical preventive maintenance checklist helps you find those problems early, not when they’ve turned into an emergency.  Why This Checklist Exists According to the National Fire Protection Association’s home structure fire data, electrical distribution and lighting equipment

Warm white LED lighting creating a cozy living room with ambient illumination and modern home décor

Daylight vs Warm Light Bulbs: The Difference & How to Choose

Soft white. Warm white. Bright white. Daylight. The naming on light bulb packaging has gotten genuinely confusing, and most people end up picking the wrong one by accident. The distinction is simple: daylight bulbs (5000-6500K) produce a sharp, blue-leaning light that mimics natural sunlight. Warm light bulbs, including soft white (2700K) and warm white (3000K),

10 Types of Electricians by Specialty, Certification & Skills

Electricians held about 818,700 jobs in 2024, with employment projected to grow 9 percent through 2034. But not all electricians handle the same kind of work.  The person rewiring a kitchen and the one maintaining control panels at a manufacturing plant are both called electricians, but their training, certifications, and daily environments look nothing alike.  Here’s

7 Best LED Garage Lights: Comparison & Cost

If your garage feels like a cave after dark, the fix is usually a handful of quality LED shop lights and the right wiring to power them.  Most solid options cost between $20 and $70 per fixture, put out 4,000 to 7,200 lumens depending on the model, and last far longer than the fluorescent tubes

A beige home standby generator installed outside a residential home next to gas pipes, ready for scheduled generator maintenance.

7 Best Whole House Surge Protectors of 2026

Your TV survived last Tuesday’s thunderstorm. Your HVAC probably did too. But that doesn’t mean the next power surge won’t silently fry the circuit boards inside both of them.  A whole-house surge protector stops that from happening, and in 2026, every home with modern electronics and appliances should have one installed at the electrical panel.

A beige home standby generator installed outside a residential home next to gas pipes, ready for scheduled generator maintenance.

Why Your Generator Needs Weekly Maintenance & Self-Tests

Most homeowners buy a standby generator and assume the job is done. Set it, forget it, and trust it’ll fire up when the lights go out. But here’s the truth: sitting idle is what kills generators.  A unit that hasn’t been through regular generator maintenance is, in many cases, more likely to fail during a

Why Flat-Rate Electrician Cost Saves Homeowners Money and Headaches

If you’ve ever gotten a quote from an electrician and watched the final bill climb way past what you expected, you already know the frustration.  The good news? There’s a better way, and it’s called flat-rate pricing. It’s straightforward, predictable, and a lot fairer for homeowners trying to budget for electrical work without any nasty
